[Talk] 1920s fashion

Next month I’m presenting a fully illustrated talk on 1920s fashion, online for the Glen Eira library.

Now that we’re back in the 20s again, it’s time to scrub up on the decadent fashion of the liberated flappers and their Oxford bag, boater-wearing beaus!

Revisit the revolutionary time when hemlines came up, shoes got fancy and dresses got very simple. Corsets were loosened (or even thrown away) and sportswear became every day wear thanks to style luminaries like Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli. One of the most interesting of eras, the 1920s were the dawning of a new age of social and cultural change, shaping what we wore for the rest of the 20th century.

Please join Nicole Jenkins, costumer, collector, Circa Vintager and the award-winning author of books Love Vintage and Style is Eternal for a whirlwind ride through the fashion of last century’s roaring twenties.

Bookings are essential, so you’ll have your link to view the talk and please, don’t leave it too late because they’re all booking out. This is a fabulous talk, choc o’block with great images. Hope to see you there.
