[Exhibition] You Can’t Do That! at the Melbourne Museum

Super excited about this upcoming exhibition: the Melbourne Museum holds the archives of designers Prue Acton and Jenny Bannister and is putting on an exhibition celebrating the boundary-pushers, those who say and do (sartorially) what others say they can not! It’s going to be a celebration of cheeky Australian style and I can’t wait.

Featured will be six designers and models: Stella Dare, Prue Acton, Lois Briggs, Jenny Bannister, Christopher Graf and Andreja Pejić.

The exhibition is also part of this year’s Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival Arts Program. From the VAMFF site:

“You Can’t Do That shines a spotlight on six influential figures who’ve created memorable fashion moments through the decades, starting in the 1950s and incorporating a remarkable story of today. Displays styled as shop windows within the exhibition will follow their unique paths to success and capture the spirit of the time, with original garments from the designers and footage from catwalks, both old and new, on display.”
