Hi all,
This Saturday I’m pleased to be hosting a panel discussion with some of the creative team behind “Doctor Blake”. Louise McCarthy (costume designer), and John Logue (hair and makeup designer) will be discussing how they achieve the show’s vintage look. It will be accompanied with a slideshow of images from the TV series, plus a Q&A at the end.
It’s part of the program for the Gold Museum’s exhibition of costumes, props, sets and other material, and coincides with the annual Ballarat Heritage Weekend. Earlier in the day you might like to catch Charlotte Smith and Tara Moss talking about vintage fashion at the Mining Exchange or a free ’50s fashion parade with couture garments from the Darnell Collection.
The Ballarat Apron Festival is also on, and features a selection of aprons from Doctor Blake too!
It’s a great weekend for vintage fashions lovers.
