One last week

Lovely people who’ve come to see me at Mitchell House and take home a piece of Circa: thank you. It’s for you that I do this. It gives me such pleasure to be able to dress you up and send you out with something that is going to help you feel great, and be the best that you can be.

This week we’ve sold hundreds of items – and hopefully before we close on Christmas eve, there will be hundreds more. Thank you for giving vintage a good home, for wearing and loving it.

As much as I love it, my retail days are in single figures now, as the future beckons. Thirteen years ago I bought the contents of a Sydney vintage clothing shop, bought stock and fittings from another ten vintage shops around Australia to create my own Dream Vintage Shop and very soon that dream will be no more. Soon after I opened a lovely lady told me that she had waited thirty years for Circa – me too! I hope you’ve all enjoyed it as much as I have.

Last night we went to Moira Finucane’s annual Christmas Cocktail Party. It was sensational, as it always is. Art and passion: the important things. This year we were seated right next to the stage and I couldn’t resist taking a few snaps – this one particularly resonated: Anna Lumb, hoola hoop extraordinaire.

I confess that running Circa has felt a little like this at times: trying to keep all the hoops up in the air, moving at the right speed without messing up the lipstick.

We have one more week to go before we close on Christmas eve – your last chance to see us in the beautiful Art Deco Mitchell House.

As always, I am at your service.
