Winners: a Midnight in Paris

Thank you to everyone who entered the Midnight in Paris contest – I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your responses! I worried that such an arty/literature question would put off the less interested readers but instead your responses proved to me how much you’re going to love this film, and how pleased I am to have you as readers! If only I had passes for all of you.

My personal choice would be Jean Cocteau, a fascinating and multi-talented man – and Man Ray, a visionary surrealist photographer. I’m pleased to see that I’m not alone in appreciating their talents. But how to choose? All of the artists in the list are wonderful and inspiring in different ways.

So, unable to choose, I turned to a random number generator and here are the results:

6 – Diana who chose Gertrude Stein
8 – Josephine who chose Jean Cocteau

Congrats ladies, if you could please email me with your postal address and I’ll pop the double passes in the mail. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the film.

Now here is a Man Ray photo of Cocteau with Tristan Tzara, that great Dadaist – who is no doubt also in Allen’s film, enjoying himself off-camera (1924 – source here).
