[Talk] A History of Australian Swimwear

Hi everyone,

My next talk is about Australian swimwear for the wonderful Brighton Historical Society. From the website:

From Annette Kellerman’s sleek one-piece, which scandalised society over a century ago, to the high-tech Speedos worn by today’s swimming champions, what Australians have worn on the beach and in the water displays the perfect combination of style and innovation.

Join author and fashion historian Nicole Jenkins for an illustrated look at the wonders of concealing and revealing – bathers, bikinis, maillots, swimmers, swimsuits, swimming costumes, togs and trunks.

The talk will feature a display of Brighton Historical Society’s swimwear collection and will be followed by afternoon tea.
