Meet the author Nicole Jenkins – author of Love Vintage : a passion for collecting fashion.
Nicole Jenkins is a costume designer and great lover of vintage clothing. Her book is an elegant presentation of both glamorous and everyday garments from the 1920s to the 1970s. It is a detailed catalogue of antique clothing, dress construction and vintage designers, which pays tribute to cultural and social history but at its heart it’s a story of clothes and those who love them.
Many different types of frocks (and other beloved attire) are gloriously depicted along with how to wear and care for them. The book has exquisite photographs and explores details of collector’s items that are much loved. Love Vintage is a great book for the frock-obsessed and other avid collectors. It explores fashion from the collector’s perspective and entices the reader to wear, collect, care for and love good quality vintage.
Nicole is a dressmaker, designer, collector and loves a good frock! She owns the vintage clothing store CIRCA in Fitzroy. Come and share Nicole’s love of vintage – dress in your favourite vintage wear and you might win the lucky door prize!
