MIAF – The Knitting Factory with Audrey Jeane’s Travelling Slide Show

As part of the Melbourne International Arts Festival, an interesting event is being held this Sunday at The Forum.

What: The Knitting Factory with Audrey Jeane’s Travelling Slide Show
Where: The Forum, corner of Flinders Street and Russell Street, Melbourne.
When: Sunday October 18th at 2pm
Cost: $15

The Knitting Factory is an afternoon picnic of tea, cakes and swing dancing in the Forum Theatre. Featuring the sights and sounds of Audrey Jeane’s Travelling Slideshow, a selection of kitsch and charming 35mm slides collected from the golden memories of Melbourne’s senior residents. The slide show is complete with a terrifically handsome LP soundtrack.

Playing out the afternoon will be swing band The Snappers. This sextet performs a broad array of styles from the 20’s through to the modern day.

Also on display will be a surprising ‘cake installation’ from darlings of this year’s Royal Melbourne Show The Hotham Street Ladies

Sadly, I can’t go because I’ll still be in Sydney at the vintage fair launching my book so if you have the opportunity, please have a lamington for me. I hope the day goes well enough that they decide to hold more events.
