[Exhibition] Celebrating Style – 1950s fashion in Melbourne

Hi all,

I’m very excited about an upcoming exhibition that I’ve been working on for the last six months – a big display of original Melbourne fashion and photography from the 1950s including around a hundred pieces from my archive, some of which you may recognise from my book “Love Vintage” (including the blue party dress on the cover!) but many have never been seen before.

From the Glen Eira website:
Showcasing 1950s Australian women’s vintage fashion and couture, this exhibition captures the international influences, style and elegance of fashion during this decade. Garments, accessories and fashion photography by renowned Australian photographers Athol Shmith and Bruno Benini sourced from public gallery and private collections are included in the exhibition.

Here are the details: pencil it into your diary. It’s a free event!

This event is part of this year’s “Storytelling Festival” and I’m also presenting a ’50s fashion parade at Rippon Lea – more on that soon.
