[Pics] The New Look: 1960s Fashion in Melbourne at Glen Eira

Hi everyone, I hope you’ve made it along to see the wonderful ’60s fashion on display (free!) at the Glen Eira art gallery? It closes on the 27th so there’s still some time.

Thank you to everyone who came along to my talk, it’s always a pleasure to be able to talk about my collection, what I do and meet like-minded people.

Here are some pics of the exhibition, which include garments from my collection and also from the House of Darlington and other private collections. Museum Victoria kindly loaned some of their Prue Acton archive, and Prue herself opened the exhibition: I was fortunate to meet her and she encouraged me to leave my Prues to the museum too. But I’m not finished with them yet!

Details about the exhibition can be seen here, at the Glen Eira site.

Lovely hot pink ensemble set from my collection: dress with matching jacket.

Lots of fabulous gowns and suits.

  1. I think fashion is a lot of enjoyable. I love clothes. More than fashion or brand labels, I love design. I love the thinking that people put into clothes. I love when clothes make cultural statements and I think personal style is really cool. I also freely recognize that fashion should be a hobby.
