[Exhibition] Night Life at Barwon Park

Hi all,

Thank you to everyone who came along to my final moving sale at Mitchell House – it was fabulous to have a last “hurrah” to my retail shop days and find homes for hundreds of lovely things. I still have a few pieces left at bargain prices, so if you missed out or have been thinking about something that you couldn’t get along to buy, you can see them here. I have new stock to add too including more accessories and jewellery.

I hope you had a wonderful festive season and perhaps a little time off too. I managed to have a break in between days of setting up my new office and getting Circa back online and it was lovely.

Circa’s blog has been included in a list of the top fifty Australian fashion blogs – and is one of the few vintage ones – so that’s a win too. So now I have a lovely medal to add to the side bar.

The National Trust is hosting a new exhibition showcasing some of their excellent ’20s and ’30s collection of fashion. It’s on now at Barwon Heads, although it’s best to plan ahead as only select dates are available. There are also curator talks – I hope to get along to one of those. From the site:

An exhibition drawn from the fashion collection of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) featuring many never before seen costumes. Be transported to a world of 1920s and 30s glamour where stars, sophistication and city lights influenced the fashion worn by the well-dressed.

“It’s exciting to present these costumes in a way that captures the spirit of the age. Many have been made locally in Victoria so they represent the fashion that was being worn here during the 20s and 30s. These are clothes our great grandmothers and grandfathers were wearing when they danced the night away or enjoyed a Hollywood film.”
Elizabeth Anya-Petrivna, National Trust of Australia (Victoria) Curator
